| dc.description.abstract | Georgia Architectural and Historic Properties Survey of Rural [120] Midwest section of the county, Quitman, Ga. December 1980. Okapilco Plantation. Possibly a two story dogtrot. A large two story rectangular plan with gabled tin roof, clapboard siding. Hipped porch with coupled square posts, gingerbread. Sash windows with 9/9 and 9/6 lights. Interior chimneys, transom, sidelights, brick piers. Double front doors. Date of Construction: c. 1875. This building is the parsonage of the Okapilco Baptist Church. The C.S. Gaulden family was the first to live in the parsonage. It is presently the home of Mr. and Mrs. H.C. McGiboney. The heart pine house w/ red tile roof is located across from the house. It seems unusual architecturally because it appears to be a two story dogtrot. | en_US |
