Abstract

Georgia Architectural and Historic Properties Survey of Quitman [397] 607 E. Steward St, Valdosta, Ga. December 1980. Three saddlebag houses, rectangular plan. Gabled, tin roof. Clapboard siding. Shed porch with square posts. Interior chimneys. Set on brick piers. Sash windows with 6/6 and 2/2 lights. Poor condition. Date of Construction: c. 1900. These houses were probably built here as part of an area of mill housing - due to the mill on Railroad Street. Significant as part of a potential National Register historic district, could be included in a residential and industrial one located near the mill and the railroad.
