Abstract
The purpose of this action research project, Using Technology Clubs as an After-school
Enrichment Program, was to gain information, if any, on the effects of an after-school
program designed to gain student interest, accelerate and foster reading opportunities
through technology-based programs, and increase academic achievement. After-school
programs that focused on remediation have not been successful. Research indicates that
after-school programs designed to meet the needs of the whole child through acceleration
or enrichment have produced the best results.
