Abstract

A capstone course taught in a seminar setting, emphasizing individual research projects on selected themes, presented by students to their peers and to the philosophy and religious studies faculty. This is a reading, research and writing intensive course, so it will require you to read, think about, and write about a considerable amount of material. The most important aspect of the course is that it involves independent research leading up to a publishable quality research paper and a set of presentations during the semester. The class does not involve lecture, rather we will engage in seminar style critique of everyone’s oral and written work as you would in a graduate program.
