Abstract

Practical morality is otherwise known as "A guide to men and manners." Also consisting of Lord Chesterfields' Advice to his son. To which is added, a supplement containing extracts from various books, recommended by Lord Chesterfield to Mr. Stanhope. Together with The Polite Philosopher: An essay on the art which makes a man happy in himself, and agreeable to others by James Forrester. Continuing on Dr. Blair's Advice to youth is included and Dr. Fordyce on Honor as a principle. As well as Lord Burghley's Ten precepts to his son, and Dr. Franklin's Way to wealth. Concluding with the Pope's Universal prayer.
