Abstract
The purpose of this research was to identify and describe elementary students'
attitudes toward and accuracy of math computation skills following implementation
of the Math Blaster Software Program in the math curriculum. A group of forty-one
third grade students utilized the Math Blaster Program each day over a three week
period. Assessment scores, archival data, surveys, and observations were used to
gather information to answer the research questions. The results indicated the
program positively impacted students' achievement scores in math computation.
Students also showed increased motivation associated with implementation of the
program as well. A review of the literature related to math achievement and
computer use accompanies the research findings. The results were communicated to
the faculty and administration through a workshop in which a power point
presentation and demonstration of the Math Blaster Software were presented.
