Abstract

Georgia Architectural and Historic Properties Survey of Dowling Bag Company, 910 River Street, Valdosta, Ga., December 1980. Two buildings - 1. Large two story building of triangular plan (follows line of R.R. tracks). Flat roof. Brick coursing along walls. Double hung sash windows with 6/6 lights. Arched pediment over doors and windows. (has modern buildings attached to it) 2. Two story brick building of rectangular plan. Windows have been boarded up. Second story section exists on south part of building. Date of Construction: N/A. Industrial. Shown on 1922 map as the Valdosta Mill & Elevator Company. The second story section of the rectangular building may have been part of a grain elevator. Dowling Bag Company did not organize until 1945.
