Abstract
This intervention examined the effects of general and targeted media center
communications on technology-related perceptions and actions of teachers. The
participants in this study were ten teachers randomly selected from a middle school and
high school that shared a single media center. The results were that teachers benefited
from the targeted communications if they had prior experience with the technologies.
Teachers also needed reinforcement and guides for integrating technology.
The results of the study were communicated to the learning community through a
meeting with teachers and administrators. Attendees expressed a need for more extensive
technology training or retraining on needed technology areas.
