Mr. C.C. Hall was the first principal of a highly trained teaching staff. Mr. Ernest Haile was the assistant principal. Two administrative assistants stood tall above the rest, Ms. Hazel Gibbs and Ms. Truoise Taylor Nash. The students of this school were as high-spirited as the mascot that represented them. They were known as the orange and black “Mighty, Mighty Tigers”. A well-rounded curriculum guided by Miss Ann J. Ingram enabled students to excel in many civic, academic, business, and religious endeavors. Students competed in several regional championships in both basketball and football; ultimately winning a State Championship in 1963. The legacies of this institution and the students who graced the halls at Pinevale High School are far too numerous to mention; however, we shall never forget the faculty and staff who labored to train young minds. Students were encouraged to be honest, accept shortcomings and strive to correct them, seize the opportunity to do good works, and most of all, recognize a power higher than their own. In June 1969, Pinevale High School closed its doors as a four year segregated institution making the way for an integrated school system. The students marched across the stage for the final time. They then set out to meet the challenges in the world around them. The Spirit Keepers The Class of 1969 Patrons Names Names Names Valdosta City Schools P.O.
