As we come together for this event, we will reflect on the past, enjoy the present, and look forward to the future. Since our last class reunion in 2019, we have experienced a world-wide pandemic, the coronavirus (COVID-19). Over a million lives were lost during this time. Most of us were affected. But God saw fit to sustain us. He provided an avenue for us to return to our Pinevale roots. And for that, we are humbled and grateful. As we take time from our busy schedules to attend this combined class reunion, let us remember the unique history and legacy we share.These commonalities helped shape our lives and enabled us to emerge as productive citizens in our society. A big thank you to the Pinevale High School educators and support staff who challenged us to always do our best.They also encouraged us to be proud of the herit age we possess. About Our Lusharon Wiley is actively engaged in the Pensacola community where she has resided for the past thirty-four years. Named one of the Most Influential People in Pensacola by Inweekly Magazine (April, 2023), she understands the importance of giving back to the community in which she lives and works. As Vice President of Corporate Culture at Innisfree Hotels, a Florida-based hotel management, marketing and development company, Dr. Lusharon Wiley is responsible for managing the company’s culture practices and providing expertise and support in the areas of employee engagement and retention, diversity and inclusion, culture training and navigating difference. Lusharon was previously employed by the University ofWest Florida for twentyfour years before moving to private industry. Her career in higher education included a number of accomplishments and recognitions. Perhaps the accomplishment she is most proud of is as founder of the Argo Pantry, a service for students to ensure that they have access to food and personal care items. Lusharon Wiley is committed to making a difference in her community. Not only does she serve on the Pensacola Economic Development Council (PEDC) where she is an executive board member; she is also a founding member of the Equity Project Alliance. In addition, she is a board member of the WSRE-TV Foundation Board, Pensacola Children’s Chorus and the United Way ofWest Florida Visioning Team. Project Search, a national organization that partners with local businesses and boards of education to serve highs school students with special needs, named its Pensacola Community Service Award in her honor. Dr. Wiley is currently serving, at the request of the Mayor of Pensacola, as the Chair of the Miraflores Community Advisory Group for the Bur a Ground Study involving the unearthing of skeletal remains thought to b* of African American or Creole descent. She also served as a member of the 2022 Mayoral Transition Committee for the City of Pensacola. .usharon was born and raised in Valdosta, GA in a large family where she was loved tremendously and is grateful for all she learned from her ancestors. He received his B.S.N. from Valdosta State College (Universit in 1974 and Family Nurse Practitioner From Georgia Southern Colle (University) in 1986. He maintains a Georgia Nursing License and American Nursing Association certifications. Eugene Godfrey has worked in various positions throughout his nursing ■ career. His professional experience includes: Charge nurse at Archboid I Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA; Senior Staff Nurse at the Public H Health Clinic in Valdosta; Lead Nurse Coordinator of High Blood Pressure and Diabetes Mellitus Clinics, Family Nurse Practitioner—Adult Health Coordinator, District Public Health Nursing and Clinical Director in Valdosta; Family Nurse Practitioner at the Primary Health Care Clinic at the Lowndes County Health Department. Presently, he is Evangelist/ Elder and Nurse Practitioner at the Adult Health Promotion Clinic I South in Hahira, GA. He is a member of the Georgia Public Health Association. Also, he is a I board member of BB&T Bank. Eugene Godfrey has received several awards; Consultant of Rural Health Grant-1999-Present - Grant amount over one million dollars; Health Coalititon Development Demonstration Grant to prevent HIV/AIDS Level of funding $306,000 1994-1998; Recipient of the James W. Alley I Training Program Grant through Morehouse School of Medicine 1991 Recipient of Kellogg Enhancement Grant 1989 which included a trip c I Kenya in Africa; Project Director for Minority Community. Eugene Godfrey is also active in the community. He is president of Advancing Valdosta, Inc. He has served as president of the Well Chur/. Council and Lowndes County Partnership for Health, Inc.
