There is a sparse number of Black male soccer coaches who coach within NCAA soccer, a sport in which the coaching profession is predominately White within NCAA soccer. This is an alarming factor as the NCAA has a strong belief in diversity and inclusion among student-athletes, coaches, staff, and administrators. This paper will recount the experiences of Black male soccer coaches working with universities affiliated with the NCAA. As the researcher, finding meaning from the experiences from different Black male coaches may contribute towards the understanding of this phenomenon within NCAA soccer. This research is the first of its kind to hear the voices of post-secondary Black male soccer coaches as a narrative inquiry, which could bring changes within NCAA soccer when hiring coaches of color or identifying factors that may contribute to the lack of hiring Black male soccer coaches through individual interviews.
