Letters of General Joseph R. Hawley to Charles Dudley Warner, The Hartford Daily Times, November 11, 1929. An introduction of Joseph Roswell Hawley, a lawyer, editor, soldier, and statesman, along with his friendship with Charles Dudley Warner is provided in this publication. Details about his early life, his career in law, his marriages, and his life as a soldier are talked about as well. Hawley, being one who studied law, was elected Governor in 1866. He became obsessed with politics, and he frequently talked about his political views and political status in letters that he sent to his dear friend Charles. He was also selected to be United States senator, and he was reelected again in 1887, 1893, and 1899. Although this publication does not contain a letter written to or from Joseph R. Hawley, there is still great and important details about his life, along with is death on March 15, 1905.
