Abstract:
Letters of General Joseph R. Hawley to Charles Dudley Warner, The Hartford Daily Times, December 12, 1929. Hawley wrote next from Hampton roads, expressing doubt as to the importance of the expedition and pessimism concerning some of the troops. His letter described the tragic loss of a soldier at sea. In this letter, Hawley enclosed a one-hundred-dollar treasury note that he wanted Warner to pay at the State Bank.
