Georgia Architectural and Historic Properties Survey of Romine Furniture, 211 E. Screven St, Quitman, Brooks County, Ga., 1981. Two story brick building of rectangular plan. Flat roof. Segmented arched windows (1/1 lights) on 2nd level. Modern street level storefront. Brick piers and bays along facade. Good condition. Date of Construction: c. 1895. 1895 - drugs store and dry goods. 1899 - Quarterman and Jelks drug store. 1912 - Powers and Co. General Store. W.W. Williams Dry Goods. Significant as part of a potential National Register district, a downtown district along Screven Ave. Mostly 19th century buildings.
