Odum Library
A collection primarily of correspondence. The exotic descriptions of India in the poetic works of Arnold, influenced by first-hand accounts, must have been alluring to aristocrats. Many of the British noblemen and relatives we eager for Arnold to attend dinners, lunches and other functions particularly to discuss The Light of Asia. Not all correspondences in the collection are dated but those that bare dates are from 1880-1898. A draft of one of his poem "On Ranmoor, Surrey" and a sketch Ranmoor rounds out the collection.
