Part of the South Georgia Folklife Project at Valdosta State University Archives and Special Collections. Topics include turpentining and the turpentine industry and trade. Includes transcript, 2 photos, and a biography. This interview is a description of the life and times of Mr. Anthrom L. Green as a worker in the Turpentine Camps in and around the Soperton, Georgia area. Mr. Green is eighty five years old and has a very active recollection of his experiences. Fieldworker note: Interview done at Green Home, Jacksonville, FL. Referred by a man who called in, having heard about the project, and referred Laurie Sommers to Mr. Green. One of three interviews LeRoy Henderson did for Faces of Piney Wood Project (others were Major Phillips and Stick Nelson). Note: part of this interview is restricted for public uses. Mr. Green is a soft spoken but well spoken man throughout the interview...there is very little background noise on the tape." en_US
