Georgia Architectural and Historic Properties Survey of Dixie [201] Ga. Highway 364, Quitman, Ga. December 1980. Once a dogtrot, now L-shaped with a gabled, tin roof. Surrounding shed porch with turned spindle posts and gingerbread trim. Gabled dormer with 2/2 lights. Sash windows with 6/6 lights. Transom and sidelights over door. Set on brick piers. Clapboard siding. Fair condition. Date of Construction: c. 1905. The town was originally a post office stop #17, and in February of 1879, the town was named Dixie. Not significant as part of a potential National Register historic district, Dixie does not have enough historic resources to form a district.
