dc.description.abstract This document is an overview of the history of locations around Brooks County, Georgia. The document begins by looking at Blue Springs and the floods that occured within the town in 1928. Dixie, Georgia is also discussed with a manuscript by Summer Mary Hatcher and photgraphs of students in school. Empress, Georgia is further discussed in relation to turpentine plantations and other historical buildings. Johnson Short is included through a oral history that was written down in 1988 detailing the changes over 90 years. Mule Creek is a interesting story with the retelling of a lost treasure in the area. The history of Nankin is detailed and includes the names of prominent settlers in the region. Finally, the Piscola Creek Indian tribe are detailed in their impact upon the region and prior settlement before removal. en_US
