dc.description.abstract This issue focuses on the life of Jesse Shelby “Dock” Shaw, the son of Francis Marion and Rachel Moore Shaw. Raised on the family farm in Ray City, Georgia, Dock married Susie Bullard and together they raised eight children while managing a 200-acre farm. Known for his humor, kindness, and dedication, Dock served as a county commissioner and was an active member of the Primitive Baptist Church. The newsletter includes vivid recollections of daily farm life, family traditions, and community events such as “Big Meeting” and cane syrup making, offering a nostalgic glimpse into early 20th-century rural Georgia. This issue also honors recently deceased family members and encourages preserving family stories for future generations. en_US
