dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this research study was to describe the effects of communication technology on parent satisfaction with parent-teacher communication. I wanted to look for evidence that the School Call system, a specific telephonic communication technology, could increase parent satisfaction with parent-teacher communication. The project took place over the course of three weeks. School Call messages were delivered on a regular basis to facilitate parent-teacher communication. Data collection methods included informal observation, School Call reporting, parent survey, and parent telephone interviews. The results of the study indicated that the School Call system could be an effective means of increasing parent satisfaction with parent-teacher communication. Results also indicated that teachers felt the School Call system was an effect method of communicating with parents. Results further indicated that parents felt very positive about the School Call system, noting its reliability as the most positive element. The results of the study were communicated to the learning community through a meeting with teachers and administrators. The different components of the study were addressed including participants, time frame, and intervention. The meeting promoted the use of the School Call system as a means of increasing parent satisfaction with parent-teacher communication. | en_US |
