dc.description.abstract | This is a study of the effectiveness of public posting, formative assessment, and databased decision making implemented in a school wide effort to improve student performance in the areas of academics and social behavior. The study is a journal ready dissertation composed of three works. The dissertation consists of a literature review examining research/theory related to formative assessment, public posting, and data based decision making. A quantitative study to assess the impact of the formative assessment and public posting procedure on social behavior of elementary school children was conducted. Finally, a quantitative study designed to provide students with feedback through public posting performance data regarding academics performance, was conducted to determine if formative assessment can be used effectively in a school wide setting. | en_US |
