dc.description.abstract Due to the self-reported number of students with a hearing disability in post-secondary technical education, students with hearing loss are not formally self-disclosing their disability and, therefore, are not requesting accommodations. To determine the root cause of the low self-report rate for hearing disabilities, this study explores the self-disclosure behavior of adult students with hearing loss and their attitudes toward requesting accommodations through the use of an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design. This study’s results are intended to guide policy and procedures at an institutional and system level to identify and remove barriers for students with hearing loss.
